Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 18, Verse 14

अधिष्ठानं तथा कर्ता करणं च पृथग्विधम् । विविधाश्च पृथक्चेष्टा दैवं चैवात्र पञ्चमम्

adhiṣṭhānaṃ tathā kartā karaṇaṃ ca pṛthagvidham | vividhāśca pṛthakceṣṭā daivaṃ caivātra pañcamam

Translation

The seat and actor and the various organs, and the several functions of various sorts, and the Divinity also, the fifth among these;

Śaṅkarācārya's commentary

The seat: the body which is the seat of desire, hatred, happiness, misery, knowledge and the like. Actor: the enjoyer, partaking of the character of the upādhi with which it may be associated. The various organs: such as the sense of hearing. Functions: of the air (vāyu), such as outbreathing and inbreathing. Divinity: such as the Āditya and other Gods by whose aid the eye and other organs discharge their functions.
