Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2, Verse 61

तानि सर्वाणि संयम्य युक्त आसीत मत्परः । वशे हि यस्येन्द्रियाणि तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता

tāni sarvāṇi saṃyamya yukta āsīta matparaḥ | vaśe hi yasyendriyāṇi tasya prajñā pratiṣṭhitā

Translation

Restraining them all, a man should remain steadfast, intent on Me. His knowledge is steady whose senses are under control.

Śaṅkarācārya's commentary

Therefore, having restrained all the senses, the practitioner should sit firm (āsīta yukta), his mind intent on Me, the inner Self, the Lord, Vāsudeva. His knowledge is steady whose senses are under his own control (vaśe). The Lord here names the support (Himself, the inner Self) on which the sthita-prajña steadies his intent.
