तस्माद्यस्य महाबाहो निगृहीतानि सर्वशः । इन्द्रियाणीन्द्रियार्थेभ्यस्तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता

tasmādyasya mahābāho nigṛhītāni sarvaśaḥ | indriyāṇīndriyārthebhyastasya prajñā pratiṣṭhitā

Translation

Therefore, O mighty-armed, his knowledge is steady whose senses have been entirely restrained from sense-objects.

Therefore — drawing the conclusion of what precedes — his knowledge alone is steady whose senses are wholly restrained from sense-objects on every side. The Lord drives the point home: restraint of the senses is the indispensable condition of steady knowledge.
