Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 18, Verse 35
यया स्वप्नं भयं शोकं विषादं मदमेव च । न विमुञ्चति दुर्मेधा धृतिः सा पार्थ तामसी
yayā svapnaṃ bhayaṃ śokaṃ viṣādaṃ madameva ca | na vimuñcati durmedhā dhṛtiḥ sā pārtha tāmasī
Translation
That with which a stupid man does not give up sleep, fear, grief, depression and lust, that firmness, O Pārtha, is Tāmasic.

Śaṅkarācārya's commentary
The stupid man holds sensual gratification in high esteem and never gives up lasciviousness. He regards sleep etc. as things that ought always to be resorted to.
