Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2, Verse 37

हतो वा प्राप्स्यसि स्वर्गं जित्वा वा भोक्ष्यसे महीम् । तस्मादुत्तिष्ठ कौन्तेय युद्धाय कृतनिश्चयः

hato vā prāpsyasi svargaṃ jitvā vā bhokṣyase mahīm | tasmāduttiṣṭha kaunteya yuddhāya kṛtaniścayaḥ

Translation

Killed, thou wilt reach heaven; victorious, thou wilt enjoy the earth. Wherefore, O son of Kuntī, arise, resolved to fight.

Śaṅkarācārya's commentary

Whichever way the battle goes, the outcome is good. If killed, you attain heaven; if victorious, you enjoy the kingdom of earth. There is therefore no reason to hesitate. Arise, resolved on battle.
