Śaṅkarācārya's commentary
Holy: of pure birth. "This world": the world of man, human birth which is the means of attaining spiritual aspirations (puruṣārtha), and which is very hard to attain. As non-human bodies such as those of animals are not fit for a life of devotion to the Lord, those who have attained to human birth should lead a life of devotion to the Lord.
